I've had a Chase United Card for years. I usually don't like cards with an annual fee, but this is one that pays for itself. I travel a lot, and when I do, I prefer to check my bags. I get 2 free bags simply for booking my flights with my Chase United Card. It doesn't take too many flights per year to pay for that annual fee.
As an author, I carry books with me when I'm traveling to author events. Books are heavy. Not only do I get to check my bags with all my books, but I often get 70 lbs free instead of only 50 lbs. That is a huge deal for me.
I also scuba dive. My gear takes most of my weight allowance, so I have no weight left over for unimportant things like clothes. lol
