Busy, Busy

It's been a busy few months. I did Dreamin' Dirty in Michigan (April) and had a blast. I saw my old and dear friend, Dawn, made new friends, and sold books, etc., even had a date with a very nice, handsome man. We are still communicating as friends.
A couple of weeks later, I embarked on a 14 day cruise. I booked it thinking it would be a good, long, boring thing to do all by myself in hopes of getting myself writing again. My husband was diagnosed a year ago in March with terminal cancer Get Your Colonoscopy! Please!!!
That, and the miserable 7 months following, killed any and all creativity I had, which is fine at the time, because my priority was to care for him and keep him as comfortable as possible.
But, now that he has passed, I'm ready to start writing again, though it isn't as easy as one would think. I found myself avoiding it, almost like being triggered by the thought of even trying.
I did have family members who ended up booking the cruise with me, for which I am grateful. I imagined myself making friends, but I think I talked to 4 people the whole 14 days (not from a lack of trying), other than my family. People just weren't eager to be friendly. Covid has really changed people, or at least that is my take on it.
I did open up my last WIP and started reading, hoping to get into it again. I did, and started making changes, and then, I felt inspired to write down a scene for a totally new story, as though I need any new ones. I have approximately 1,274, 898 in my head already.
Next, I did Flirty in Tampa, June 4, and I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. I met some women who I will forever consider kindred spirits. Thanks, Ladies, I really needed you in my life. Now, if only you'd all move to Utah so we can do it more often.
Today, I just added Romanticonn in July as a birthday present to myself. 2 of my good friends are attending and I hope to make more. The event is at the Marriott Trumbull Shelton in CT. I hope you'll come by and see/meet me if you're in the area. Check out my "Events" page to see where I'll be this year.
